FDA Warns About Listeria In Popular Grated Cheese Brands
(KMDL-FM) The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has reclassified a recall advisory for a popular product commonly found in nearly every American home. The reclassification raises concerns about this product to the FDA's highest level.
The health-related issue that spawned this recall back in November was a threat of Listeria. Listeria can be particularly dangerous to the very young, the very old, and those with compromised overall health conditions.

Those infected with Listeria often complain of high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Unfortunately, those symptoms are also common in a couple of other health issues affecting Louisiana at the same time. You're probably aware of the state's flu outbreak numbers. There is also another malady going around that seems to be flu-like but is caused by a fungus instead of a virus.

What Products Are The Subject of the FDA's Highest Level of Recall?
The product that is raising the concerns of health officials at the FDA is grated cheese. See, we told you the product is in just about every American home. What makes this recall an even larger concern is that the cheese products are sold under several different brands and sizes.
Another concerning aspect of this recently reclassified recall advisory is the time frame during which the affected products were available to consumers. The FDA says the recalled products were sold between November 3, 2025, and November 20, 2025. This would mean the products were on store shelves as consumers were purchasing ingredients for holiday meals and gatherings.
