Thousands Of Costco Coolers Recalled Due To Safety Concerns
(KMDL-FM) Retail and warehouse giant Costco has announced a nationwide recall of more than 2,500 units of a popular 40-can capacity cooler sold at its stores. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the coolers pose a choking hazard and that families should be aware of the issue and take appropriate action.
What is the Reason for the Costco Cooler Recall?
The cooler itself functions properly; the issue stems from the cooler's latch magnet. Company officials say that magnet could detach. That would pose a choking hazard for small children. Hence, the recall advisory was issued.
According to the recall advisory from the CPSC and Costco, the iceless coolers were sold in a black and brown color scheme. The coolers also feature a built-in bottle opener.

You may have purchased one of these 40-can capacity coolers for not only its functionality but also its efficiency. The coolers are collapsible, measuring about 15 inches wide, a foot deep, and about 12 inches high when opened. Costco estimates that some 2,500 of the affected units may have been sold at their warehouse stores nationwide.
The affected units also include a hard top lid, a zippered front compartment that is insulated, and there are two side mesh pockets on either side of the cooler. The words TITAN PRO by ARCTIC ZONE are printed on the front of the cooler. The style number is listed as 100006348. That information can be found on a label in one of the front zippered pockets.
How to Get a Refund or Replacement for a Recalled Costco Cooler
Costco sold the recalled coolers for about $40. The retailer estimates that the majority of affected units were sold in March of 2026. If you have one of the recalled coolers, you are advised to stop using it immediately. California Innovations, the company that produced the coolers, is offering a free replacement latch.
