Parents Beware Of Choking Hazard In Popular Baby Bottles

(KMDL-FM) Attention parents, grandparents, and caregivers of infants who are still being fed with a bottle: The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued an urgent recall of tens of thousands of baby bottles.

The bottles, sold at Walmart, are being recalled because of a choking hazard. TOMY is recalling the Boon NURSH 8 oz Reusable Baby Bottles 3-pack. The products sold in the pink tie-dye design have been recalled because of an issue with the bottle's hard plastic shell.

According to the recall notice, the plastic shell on the 8 oz reusable bottles can start to bubble and peel off over time. There is a potential choking hazard should children remove some of the peeled plastic and place it in their mouths.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is reporting that the company has received 135 different reports of the bubbling and peeling problem on the bottles in question. Therefore, if you have these bottles in your home or where you care for children, you need to remove those bottles immediately.

40,000 Baby Bottles Sold at Walmart Recalled over Choking Concerns

The specifics of the recall include about 40,000 of the plastic bottles that were sold nationwide. TOMY speculates that it is about 40,000 bottles. The bottles feature the Boon logo on the side of the shell. The item number included in the packaging is B11654, and the UPC number is 6669028116546. That number is printed on the bottom of the packaging.

The affected bottles were sold between November 2025 and May 2026. The cost at Walmart or online was about $20. We can't stress enough the fact that if you have these recalled bottles, you need to stop using them now.
