(KMDL-FM) Fans of the popular So Delcious brand of frozen treats sold at Walmart, Amazon, Target, and Whole Foods will want to check the label on any product they may currently have in their freezer.
The Food and Drug Administration has just announced a recall of select batches of the product because of concerns over contamination. And while there have been no injuries reported, there have been complaints filed.
In this instance, the contamination, as has been reported by consumer complaints, appears to be small stones and other hard objects. These might be difficult for consumers to detect. And let's face it, nothing ruins the ice cream experience more than biting into something hard that you didn't expect to be there.

The flavor of dessert treat involved in the recall is the So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert. There are specific details on the packaging and labels that you will need to look for to ensure that you either have or don't have the product affected by the recall.
Why Has Ice Cream Sold at Walmart, Target, Amazon, and Whole Foods Been Recalled?
The fact that the dessert includes small pieces of cashew nuts and chocolate could make it easy for an unsuspecting consumer to bite down on "something crunchy" and find that they have injured their teeth or their mouth.
The label you see above is the product that you are looking for in your freezer. In particular, you will want to read "the fine print" on the label and look for SKU code 136603 and UPC 744473476138, with a best-by date of April 3, 2028. If you see those words and numbers printed on your product, you'll want to discontinue use of the product immediately.
Danone USA, the parent company of the So Delicious Brand, said they were alerted to the issue via consumer complaints, but they did not elaborate on how many complaints were received. We should note that other varieties and flavors of So Delicious Brand frozen desserts and treats are not affected by this recall action.
