Clyde Edwards-Helaire Declares for NFL Draft
The LSU Tigers will have to do without the services of running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire next season.
Edwards-Helaire announced on Wednesday night that he will forego his final year of collegiate eligibility and enter the 2020 NFL Draft.
The 5-foot-8, 209-pound Edwards-Heliare led the SEC in rushing in 2019, with 1,414 yards, to go along with and 16 touchdowns.
A graduate of Catholic High in Baton Rouge, Edwards-Heliare also caught 55 passes for 453 yards and a touchdown, as he was voted a First-Team All-SEC selection.
Edwards-Helaire ended his three-year career with 2,698 yards from scrimmage and 24 total touchdowns.
Six other LSU underclassman also declared for the 2020 NFL Draft on Wednesday, including left tackle Saahdiq Charles, linebacker Jacob Phillips, center Lloyd Cushenberry, receiver Justin Jefferson, linebacker Patrick Queen, and defensive back Grant Delpit.
The deadline to declare for this year's NFL Draft is Friday.
