Collegiate Baseball PreSeason Poll Has Cajuns at #24

An influx of highly touted players for the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns has caught the eye of at least one publication.

Collegiate Baseball has the Cajuns ranked #24 in its preseason top 40.

The Cajuns, 28-31 a year ago, have sixteen newcomers on their roster for 2020, including eight pitchers and eight position players, to go along with seventeen returnees.

LSU is the only other Louisiana school in the top 40.  The Tigers check in at #11.

South Alabama is the other Sun Belt school to receive a ranking in the Top 40, taking the #23 spot.

Other schools on the Cajuns' 2020 schedule include #35 Houston.  Other Cajun opponents receiving votes include Tulane, Rice, Samford, Sam Houston, McNeese, Coastal Carolina and Texas State.

The Cajuns open the season under first year head coach Matt Deggs on February 14th against Southeastern Louisiana before entertaining Louisiana Tech on February 15 and 16 at M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
