Copeland’s MKT Closing in Lafayette But New Restaurant of Theirs Taking Its Place
For the second time in a couple of years, Copeland's is saying goodbye to Lafayette -- but don't worry, they'll be back.
Copeland's MKT, which is a fast-casual version of their full-service New Orleans restaurant, will be closing on August 5. That's the location on Johnston St. in the Autumnwood Place shopping center.
However, the Copeland's team plans to replace it was another of their fast-casual restaurants, a biscuit restaurant called Batch 13 Biscuits & Bowls. There currently is one of these restaurants in Baton Rouge.
The name is a tribute to Copeland's founder Al Copeland's favorite number, which is fitting since it's also a baker's dozen.
The new restaurant will feature bonuts, which are biscuit doughnuts, in a variety of flavors, biscuit and bonut breakfast sandwiches, build-your-own breakfast and lunch bowls, salads, pressed sandwiches and more.
Batch 13 is expected to open in late August and serving up donuts and more daily from 7am to 8pm.
