New Fried Chicken Joint + Asian Restaurant Among New Additions Coming to Lafayette Area
It seems that every time you turn around some new restaurant is popping up in the Lafayette, Louisiana area. And that beat rolls on.
First, it appears that Scott is getting a new fried chicken joint. The owners of the Texas-based regional chain Golden Chick just bought some land in the Destination Pointe development in front of Super 1 Foods.
The parcel of land purchased is just under an acre, according to Elfin Realty.
This would continue the company's move into south Louisiana after previously announcing locations coming to Ryan Street in Lake Charles and Greenwell Springs Road in Baton Rouge.
Golden Chick currently has locations in Oklahoma and Florida and is expected to grow aggressively in the next few years in Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Nevada.
Golden Chick's menu includes chicken strips, sandwiches, fried catfish, salads, and other delights. The company is currently in the midst of a menu innovation effort and a concurrent new marketing campaign to modernize the brand.
Another new restaurant is heading to Lafayette's Ambassador Town Center development across TopGolf.
TK's Asian Kitchen is the name of this new fast-casual Asian fusion restaurant, which will be locally owned and operated by the same folks that have NHI Taste of Asia (also in the Ambassador Town Center shopping center).
TK's will offer a wide and diverse menu with dishes highlighting various Asian cuisines, including Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
According to Developing Lafayette, the base for most dishes will include options like white rice, stir-fried rice, and stir-fried noodles topped with various fresh proteins, vegetables, seasonings, and sauces.
TK's is reportedly set to break ground in September of this year with an opening date of August 2025.
