Costco Issues Urgent Recall For Ready-to-Eat Food Sold in Louisiana
(KMDL-FM) Costco has issued an urgent recall on a popular ready-to-eat food sold in its warehouse clubs. The major concern with the product is contamination from tiny bits of plastic from the product's packaging that may have made their way into the edible portion of the product.
If you're thinking, "There certainly seem to have been a lot of product recalls recently," then you'd be correct. There are recalls on a wide array of items from foodstuffs, to appliances, to automobiles, to car parts, to makeup up and more.

Who Issues Product Recalls in the United States?
If you like to stay ahead of this kind of information, you can subscribe to recall notices at the Food and Drug Administration Website, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, or the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service website. Those are usually the three government bodies that handle recall notices.
Of course, some recalls are initiated by the manufacturer or, in the case of Costco, by the store itself. Costco, on its website, maintains a list of items that have been recalled recently or are currently under recall. It's a great resource if you have concerns about product safety.

What Products Have Recently Been Recalled By Costco?
The most recent Costco Recall was implemented just a few days ago. As we mentioned, the concern is that pieces of plastic from the product's packaging have crept into the edible portion of the product. The products in question are the Signature Caesar Salad and the Chicken Sandwich with Caesar Salad.
The particular items affected by this recall are:
Item number: Caesar Salad Item #19927, Chicken Sandwich with Caesar Salad Item #11444 with Sell by dates: October 17 - November 9, 2025.
Costco locations have pulled the recalled products from their shelves, but some consumers could still have these products in cold storage at home or at work. If you find you have these items on hand, you are encouraged to discard them. Especially the dressing packets, as they are believed to be the reason for the recall concern.
How Many Food Recalls Have There Been in 2025?
In 2025 alone, there have been more than 300 food recalls. Many of those products recalled are in the ready-to-eat category. There have also been recalls concerning radioactive shrimp, and there was a massive recall from Hormel involving some 5 million pounds of ready-to-eat chicken.
Maybe we'd all do better if we just grew our own food, huh?
