‘Explosive’ Beverage Recalled From Costco Shelves
(KMDL-FM) It seems as if we report a new product recall to you every day. It might be a food product. In some cases, the recall affects automotive products. There have also been recalls due to mechanical and structural issues with products. But we rarely report a recall to you because of an explosive product. And no, the product, sold at Costco, isn't supposed to "blow up".
Besides the unnerving effect of having an "explosion" in your home, the other safety factor that prompted this recall is where the "explosions" take place. In the case of many reported incidents, the product's sudden combustion has resulted in injuries, including cuts and bruises, to consumers' hands.

Based on published reports, the company has received ten different complaints about the product. In at least one of those incidents, a consumer reported they had to be treated for a laceration. The extent of that injury is unknown at this time, but still, that's not what is supposed to happen when you use the product in question.
