Cruise Ship Prank United 100 Strangers In Identical Tropical Print Shirts
(KMDL-FM) You would think the one time a man could let down his guard would be when he is on vacation. Evidently, that is not the case, based on pictures and social media posts that have surfaced of a recent cruise in which more than 100 men were pranked.
Not only were these men pranked on vacation, but they were pranked using an irresistible bait. It's the one thing that no self-respecting sloth who calls himself a man can refuse, especially on vacation: a tropical print shirt.
Why Do Some People Wear Matching Outfits or Matching Shirts on Cruises?
If you've ever been on a cruise, you know it's fairly common to see fellow passengers wearing similar attire. Often a family reunion will be on board, and members of that family will wear, much to the chagrin of most of the men, matching outfits.

Speaking as a basic male of the species, I know I don't speak for all, but I believe I do for most, men don't care for matching outfits unless it's in support of a sports team. And, to be honest, if one or two other fellows show up wearing what I am wearing, I view that as confirmation of my good taste.

However, if more than 100 other men, almost all of whom I do not know, show up at the same time on the same cruise in the same place as me, I must admit, I will feel a bit dismayed. See photos of the group.
Here's How the Cruise Ship Shirt Prank Played Out
Evidently, the tropical shirt prank started via an online chat forum regarding the June 14th sailing of the Star of the Seas. Some of the commenters, we can assume, were of the wife-and-girlfriend variety and suggested the idea of procuring a certain tropical shirt and asking the man in their lives to wear it on a certain night.
The prank must have really taken off because at 7 pm on the appointed night at the appointed meeting place, men began showing up wearing the same darn shirt. At first, it wasn't that big of a deal, but as more and more guys showed up wearing the matching top, it became evident that the prank was epic. This Facebook video proves it.
My questions to you are these: Do you participate in online forums or social media sites when you book a cruise? How helpful do you find those sites to be? Have you ever participated in an onboard prank such as the one that took place on the Star of the Seas?
