Lafayette Police's holiday campaign to crack down on impaired driving begins on Wednesday, December 13th.

During the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign, LPD officers (in conjunction with the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission) will be conducting saturation patrols until the campaign ends on Sunday, December 31st.

On Friday, December 15, LPD will be conducting an OWI Checkpoint within the incorporated limits of Lafayette. Officers working the checkpoint will respond with zero tolerance.

"Designate a driver if you intend to drink. By not doing so, it could result in costly fines and serious jail time," says LPD spokesman Corporal Karl Ratcliff.
