EB I-10 Closed In Crowley Due To Big Rig Crash In Lafayette

The eastbound lanes of I-10 are now closed as crews respond to an overturned 18-wheeler. Authorities say the truck is carrying hazardous material, but at this point, no leak is suspected. Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and avoid that stretch of the roadway if possible.

The crash happened early this morning near mile marker 99 between the Ambassador Caffery overpass and Scott. State Police have posted a detour starting in Crowley at mile marker 80. Drivers will be routed north to US 190 in Eunice and then East to I-49 in Opelousas. Westbound lanes are not affected.
