Elton John & Paul McCartney Spotted in Louisiana – Here’s Why

It's not a surprise that two of music's most influential performers would make a stop in Louisiana. After all, our state is probably the most "in-tune" state in the union when it comes to music of all varieties. Let's just say "There is something in the water" that just makes the beats come alive and the music better in Louisiana.

But what makes this "sighting" a little different from most "brushes with celebrities" is this. The two legendary musical performers weren't in Louisiana to perform, they were here to talk about another performer, a performer that's not even real.

According to reports both Paul McCartney and Elton John were spotted in Louisiana during March. Neither man was here to play a concert though both performers have played shows in the state throughout their decades of performances.

Both Sir Elton and Sir Paul were in New Orleans recently to film cameo appearances for the upcoming sequel to the cult classic film, This Is Spinal Tap. The "Mockumentary film was released in 1984 and it gained an almost cult-like following. The story follows the fictitious band "Spinal Tap" during their tour and day-to-day lives.

Now, some 40 years later the original producer, TV's Rob Reiner along with original cast members Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer are currently filming the sequel in New Orleans. In addition to cameos by McCartney and Elton John, there is also word that Garth Brooks is making a special appearance as well.

Production on the project is expected to wrap up next month. No official release date for the film has been confirmed, but we can confirm that during the filming of his segments for the movie Sir Elton actually played piano on a "Spinal Tap" song. So we have that to look forward to.
