First Look At Mark Wahlberg As Oilfeld Worker In ‘Deepwater Horizon’ Oil Disaster Movie
The movie being made about the Deepwater Horizon disaster has officially begun production in New Orleans. Oscar nominees Mark Wahlberg, John Malkovich and Kate Hudson are starring in the film set to be released September 30, 2016. Yesterday, Lionsgate/Summit Entertainment released our first look at Mark Wahlberg as Mike Williams, an electronics technician who survived the Deepwater Horizon disaster.
The cast for this movie looks great too. In addition to Wahlberg, Malkovich and Hudson, Kurt Russell, Dylan O'Brien and Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez are also in the film.
While it's a little exciting to see Louisiana and the Louisiana oil industry on the silver screen, let's make sure we never forget that 11 oilfield workers were killed, and 17 others were injured in those tragic events.
