Former Governor Edwin Edwards Undergoing Tests In Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Former Louisiana Gov. Edwin Edwards is hospitalized in north Louisiana for non-COVID-related issues.

According to a statement from his family released Saturday, Edwards is back in Shreveport for a check-up at Ochsner LSU Health Medical Center where he was tested two years ago for respiratory and heart issues.

Edwards' wife, Trina, says doctors have tested her husband for the coronavirus for the third time this month and each test has come back negative.

The statement says the 93-year-old is feeling fine.
