The last holdout festivals in New Orleans have made the decision to cancel for 2020, due to ongoing coronavirus concerns. French Quarter Festival, normally held in April, was postponed last month to October, and Satchmo Summer Fest was scheduled to be held July 31-Monday, August 3. The new dates are: FQF - April 8-11, 2021, and Summerfest  July 30- August 1, 2021.

In light of the cancellation, organizers are asking the public to 'Please consider donating to our RESILIENCE CAMPAIGN, in lieu of attending this year. This campaign ensures that our non-profit can survive this unprecedented situation and bring back our beloved events in 2021'. Donations can be made here. Check out the official statement, and previously released festival promo, featuring Acadiana's own Rockin' Dopsie Jr., below.
