This is one of those crimes where I personally find it hard to feel sorry for the victim. Let me set the stage for you. According to New Orleans Police reports, a 39-year-old victim accepted a ride at 4 in the morning from two strange women. By strange I mean he didn't know them they could have been strange in other ways but I will leave that up to your imagination.

The "unassuming man" climbed into a vehicle with these two women who were offering him a ride. While in the vehicle it is unclear if he voluntarily removed his trousers or if his trousers were forcibly removed. What we do know is that the man in question was dropped off on the Chef Menteur Highway in Gentilly Woods. He was missing his pants, his ID, and about $300 in cash.

Over the past few weeks, there have been a lot of stories about crime in New Orleans. In almost every story the victim could have done something to prevent the crime from happening. Namely, they could have taken some common sense precautions when traveling in a strange city or traveling alone.

I guess New Orleans just sucks the common sense right out of people's brains. Or maybe it's the booze. Yeah, that could have something to do with it too. Our advice, have fun, drink responsibly, stay in areas you know, don't accept rides from strangers, and travel in large groups. Even I can't blame this one on the almighty Mitch Landrieu.
