Tookie Brown scored a season high 31 points to lead four Georgia Southern Eagles in double figures as the Eagles opened a big lead early and defeated the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns 103-86 before 3,562 fans at the Cajundome Wednesday night.

"We gave them 53% in the first half and I didn't think it could get worse," Louisiana head coach Bob Marlin said after the game, "but I was wrong.  They were even better in the second half."

Georgia Southern (14-9, 6-4 Sun Belt) opened up a double digit lead but Louisiana (13-10, 4-6) rallied to get within six points, 35-29.  But the Eagles quickly got the lead back to double digits and took a 51-38 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Quan Jackson scored 23 points for the Eagles, while David-Lee Jones, Jr added 15 and Isaiah Crawley chipped in eleven points.  Georgia Southern had a commanding 44-30 edge on the glass with Brown leading the way with eleven.

The Eagles, who were near the bottom of the league in three point shooting (31%) coming into the game, hit 10-16 (62.5%) for the contest.

Louisiana was led by 21 points by JaKeenan Gant, one of five Cajuns to get into double figures.  Marcus Stroman scored 16 points, while Cedric Russell had 13.  Jerekius Davis and freshman Trajan Wesley added ten apiece.

The Cajuns will host Georgia State Friday night at 8:00 pm.
