Gloria Vanderbilt, global fashion icon and mother of CNN's Anderson Cooper has passed away at 95-years-old.

Foxnews.com reports Anderson Cooper brought Vanderbilt to the hospital weeks ago where she was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Gloria Vanderbilt was an artist, author, actress, fashion designer, heiress, and socialite. She is best known for her fashion, perfumes, household goods and most notably her designer jeans.

Her son Anderson Cooper said Monday morning (0617/19) on CNN that when his mother found out she was sick with stomach cancer she told him "It's like that old song: Show me the way to get out of this world because that's where everything is."
