Gorilla Glue Responds to Louisiana Woman Who Glued Her Hair, She May Be Suing
Yesterday we brought you the story of the Chalmette, Louisiana woman who used Gorilla Glue spray on her hair instead of hairspray.
Tessica Brown went viral on Instagram after she posted about her ordeal that left her hair stuck in the same hairstyle for a month. She ended up going to the hospital late last week in hopes of getting the hardened adhesive removed.
She had little luck. Healthcare workers sent her home with acetone and sterile water to help loosen the adhesive. Brown said it only burned her scalp and hardened moments later.
The Gorilla Glue Company has heard about her ordeal and had the following to say about it.
We are aware of the situation and we are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced using our Spray Adhesive on her hair. This is a unique situation because this product is not indicated for use in or on hair as it is considered permanent.
They also emphasized that the spray adhesive states on the warning label to "not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing."
"We are glad to see in her recent video that Miss Brown has received medical treatment from her local medical facility and wish her the best," the company would add.
It has been reported that Brown is now looking into suing Gorilla Glue alleging that the labels on their products are misleading because they don't specifically mention hair.
Tessica Brown has set up a GoFundMe page to help with "medical, illness & healing." She initially set a goal of $1,500, but as of this writing, she has raised over $13,000.
