ST. MARTIN PARISH, La. (KMDL-FM) - A grieving family in Acadiana is speaking out after a heartbreaking act of vandalism disturbed the final resting place of their loved one.

The incident, which happened in St. Martin Parish, has sparked outrage and the family is looking for answers.

Louisiana Gravesite Targeted in Disturbing Incident

Deiondre’s father Wendell Benjamin tells KLFY the gravesite of his son, Deiondre Benjamin at Queen of Peace Cemetery, was recently vandalized, leaving visible damage and emotional devastation behind.

According to Detectives with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, the site was intentionally disturbed, raising serious concerns about respect for the deceased and the safety of local cemeteries.

Relatives went to the cemetery shortly after seeing the video and found visible damage. A cross and several photographs had been knocked over, and fencing surrounding the gravesite was also disturbed.

Family Speaks Out, Seeks Accountability

The Benjamin family is now demanding justice, urging authorities to investigate and hold whoever is responsible accountable.

They say the act has reopened wounds and brought renewed grief, describing the situation as both shocking and painful.
