Handful of Opelousas Residents Evacuated Due to Chlorine Leak

According to a KPEL news source, there is a chlorine leak in Opelousas. No injuries have been reported at this time, but there are several roads under evacuation.

Outside of our source, KATC is reporting that a handful of streets have been evacuated.

The following roads are being evacuated:

• Woodland Drive
• Simoneaux Lane all the way to McCarthey Lane
• Candy Street

First responders have responded to the situation unfolding at the water plant.
