Popular Pigeon Forge Tourist Destination Set to Close
(KMDL-FM) A popular tourist destination with a deep connection to music has announced that it will be closing two locations. One of those locations is in Miami, Florida, the other in the tourist destination town of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. State officials in both Florida and Tennessee were notified of the impending closures via two separate Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications.
Those WARN notifications indicated that the Hard Rock Cafe location in Miami will be shut down on August 19th, while the Pigeon Forge location will end its daily operations on August 23. Many of you have asked, "What's next"? Here's what we've found out.

The tourist town of Pigeon Forge is closely associated with Country Music icon Dolly Parton. Each year, it's estimated that more than 10 million visitors spend time and money in the East Tennessee town.

Why Are So Many Hard Rock Cafes Closing?
The reasons for the closures in both Miami and Pigeon Forge seem to signal a shift in the corporate strategy of Hard Rock as a whole.
