Astronomers from Harvard University are saying that a mysterious cigar-shaped object discovered zipping our solar system in 2017 may have actually been an alien spacecraft sent to investigate Earth.

Wgntv.com reports the object object, nicknamed  "Oumuamua" was spotted in October of 2017 in Hawaii using the Pan-STARRS 1 telescope.

Since it's discovery scientists and astronomers have been trying to figure out what exactly the object was, or where the heck it came from. Some thought it was a comet, some thought it was an asteroid.

They have now agreed on what they think it was. "Oumuamua" is being called "the first of its kind: a new class of 'Interstellar objects.'"

Researchers at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics say the object might have an artificial origin. Meaning, it ain't from here.

From wgntv.com -

"‘Oumuamua may be a fully operational probe sent intentionally to Earth vicinity by an alien civilization,' researchers wrote in the paper, which has been submitted to the Astrophysical Journal Letters."
