Interactive Map Shows Violent Incidents at Louisiana Schools by Parish
Data from the Louisiana Department of Education collected over the past two years shows how many violent incidents were reported in each Louisiana Parish.
The information from public.tableau.com shows each Parish in Louisiana, and as you click on a Parish you'll see the number of violent incidents reported for the 2018 and 2019 school years.
The most incidents reported happened in Jefferson Parish with a total of 761. The second most incidents were reported in East Baton Rouge Parish at 287.
According to the map, Lafayette Parish reported 180, Iberia Parish reported 78 and St. Martin Parish reported 20.
WWLTV.com reports that Louisiana "requires all public and charter schools to track incidents for which students were disciplined, including fights, violent crimes, drugs, tobacco use, weapons and many more."
