Much of Louisiana is thawing out after a few days and nights at or below the freezing mark.

Well, you may not want to unwrap the pipes you wrapped a few days ago because another cold mass is expected to impact our area.

While temperatures are not expected to dip into the teens, like what we saw a few nights ago, temps are expected to be way below freezing.

So, when will we experience these cold nights, again? It looks like much of Acadiana will be in the mid-to-upper 20s by this weekend (Friday and Saturday nights).

Now the good news here is that there currently isn't any precipitation in the forecast on the nights when temperatures dip way below freezing, but we will have to be on the lookout for a few things.

For one, with temperatures back in the 20s by the weekend, we'll have to drive with caution when approaching overpasses and bridges, and I am certain that the roadways will be monitored on those nights.

In addition to that, if you have pets or animals outdoors, you will once again have to make accommodations for them by the weekend.

For future updates, continue to check back here or on this station's mobile app.

Oh, one more thing, don't even think about putting the gumbo pots away, You'll need them again really soon.
