Gypsy Rose Blanchard is now a single woman. Blanchard, who was released from the Chillicothe Correctional Center in Missouri three months ago after serving eight years in prison, has announced her separation from her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson. According to People Magazine, the couple, who married in July 2022 while Blanchard was incarcerated, have decided to part ways. Blanchard shared news of the separation through a statement on her private Facebook page.

In her Facebook statement, Blanchard stated, "People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents' home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am." This update comes as Blanchard continues to navigate her new life outside of prison, a transition that has involved significant personal changes beyond her freedom.

Blanchard's marriage to Anderson, a middle school special education teacher from Louisiana, was seen as a new beginning for her. The couple had even planned a larger celebration post-release to include family and friends, much different than their prison ceremony. However, the recent announcement is the first real setback Blanchard is facing in her post-prison life.

For those who don't know the background when it comes to Blanchard's imprisonment, the controversial and tragic case involving the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, is a complex web of deception. This includes, but isn't limited to, accusations that Dee Dee subjected Gypsy Rose to unnecessary medical treatments and convinced her of having various illnesses, a situation identified as Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Since her release, Blanchard has been on a path towards rehabilitation and reintegration, with her separation from Anderson being the most recent major development.

Blanchard has also recently stepped back from social media, a move she made on the advice of her parole officer to avoid potential complications with her parole among other reasons. Prior to deleting her accounts, she used platforms like TikTok to express apologies for her past actions, expressing her desire for accountability and growth.

As Blanchard settles in with her parents, she will surely embrace the support from her family and friends as she continues to find her way.
