
New Iberia, Louisiana Native Joins Classic Rock Icons Kansas
New Iberia, Louisiana (KFTE-FM) - It's no secret that South Louisiana has some of the most talented musicians in America.
It's no longer a secret to the iconic Classic Rock band Kansas either, as the band has just announced that a New Iberia born guitar player has just joined the band!
Classic Rock Band Kansas
Kansas formed in 1973 in Topeka, Kansas.
The band evolved from earlier groups in the Topeka/Lawrence music scene, notably White Clover and an earlier band also called Kansas.
The original Kansas lineup consisted of Kerry Livgren on guitar and keyboards, Steve Walsh on vocals and keyboards, Rich Williams on guitar, Robby Steinhardt on violin and vocals, Dave Hope on bass, and Phil Ehart on drums.

The band's 1976 album, Leftoverture, is widely considered to be their really big break-out album which featured the mega-smash single “Carry On Wayward Son”.
To date, Kansas has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
Louisiana Guitarist Scott Bernard Joins Kansas
Announced via the band's Facebook page, Kansas has welcomed New Iberia born Scott Bernard to the band as an official member.

Scott has already been performing with KANSAS at several shows over the past year filling-in for guitarist and original member Richard Williams as needed.
Scott Bernard is a New Iberia, LA born, Nashville, TN based session guitarist and vocalist who has performed alongside Kenny Loggins for 17 years, serving as guitarist, background vocalist, and musical director for the past 7 of those years
Scott has enjoyed a really great career throughout the years, and now he's an official member of Kansas.
Congrats to New Iberia's own Scott Bernard on his incredible new gig!
