
Louisiana Train Fire Forced Some to Shelter in Place, Others to Evacuate Area
A train caught fire in Eunice, Louisiana on Thursday afternoon and the city advised some near the fire to shelter in place at the time.
One local business near the scene announced on social media that they were closing for the day due to the situation, but since then, the city has lifted the shelter-in-place.
Citizens are still asked to avoid the area of North St Mary near the tracks due to the fire. Photos on social media show a plume of smoke coming from the tracks behind the hospital.
According to KLFY News 10, a bridge caught fire on the tracks and two empty carts also went up in flames Thursday afternoon.
