The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team was looking to follow up their Friday night performance with another good one today. The Cajuns were able to start the game early with a 3 run lead and add some insurance runs in the 9th inning to clinch the series victory against the Chanticleers. The Cajuns move to 22-27 overall and 10-13 in conference play with the win.

The Cajuns were able to take the first lead of the game thanks to Todd Lott's 3-run home run in the top of the 3rd. Brandon Young who had started out the game pitching really well and got the first 2 batters out in the bottom of the 3rd struggled after that and allowed the Chanticleers to take their first lead of the game. Jacob Schultz came in to replace Young and helped get the Cajuns out of the mess they were in.

The Cajuns were able to retake the lead in the top of the 5th on an RBI single from Brennan Breaux that scored 2 to take a 5-4 lead. The Chanticleers were able to tie it back up on a solo home run in the bottom of the 5th. The Cajuns took the lead back for good in the top of the 6th when Orynn Veillon hit an RBI double and Todd Lott scored on a wild pitch to make it 7-5.

The Chanticleers would add a run in the bottom of the 8th to make it 7-6 but the Cajuns would add 2 insurance runs in the top of the 9th to make it 9-6. Hunter Kasuls would get his 4th hit of the day with an RBI single scoring Alex Hannie. Kasuls would be the star of the game as he was 4 for 5 on the day. The Chanticleers had a late push but they would only get 1 run and Grant Cox would seal the deal with a strikeout to end the game.

As of right now the Cajuns and Chanticleers are scheduled to finish off the series tomorrow morning at 9:30 am CT with pregame coming on at 9 am on KPEL 96.5. We will keep everyone updated if there are any changes.
