Lafayette Animal "Shelter Safe Haven Animal Rescue" is reaching out to the community asking for our help. They say they are in desperate need of donations so they can improve the living conditions of their dogs. They're also in need of people to adopt or foster some the dogs so they can keep the shelter open.

The shelter was started by Vicky Ham and her daughter Alicia Goodwin. The two tell KLFY the shelter is in desperate need of cooler fans, blankets, beds, food and monetary donations.

"Shelter Safe Haven Animal Rescue" rescue dogs that would otherwise be euthanized.

Ham tells KLFY “We take them in and we vet them and we spayed them, neuter and adopt them out. We also have dogs here from other rescues that we board for them.”

If you'd like to help them out with a donation, or if you'd like to adopt or foster a dog, you can contact them through their website sharerescues.com or by calling (337) 258-8706.
