As Lafayette braces for more record-low temperatures tonight, LCG is keeping the parish under curfew until tomorrow morning.

In an official press release from Lafayette Consolidated Government, spokesman Jamie Angelle says that Lafayette Parish will remain under curfew until 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16.

LCG on Monday afternoon announced that due to the threat of record-breaking low temperatures overnight tonight and icy conditions continuing, Lafayette Parish will remain under a curfew until 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

The release states that only essential personnel should be out while the curfew is in effect and once it expires residents are "urged to avoid getting out on the roadways" until freezing conditions subside throughout the parish.

Anyone with a report of ice or limbs on local roadways should call the proper authorities at (337) 291-8517.
