Update – Second Suspect In Kidnapping Surrenders 3-Year-Old Grandson To Lafayette Parish Deputies

Update: 3-year-old Joshua Lowe and his grandmother, Rebecca Sue Foster, are now in the custody of deputies with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office.

According to our news partners at KATC, Foster surrendered the boy to police at the Texaco on Pinhook Road and the Evangeline Thruway. Deputies say the boy is safe and doing well; Foster is being booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office now believes 3-year-old Joshua Lowe may be with a second person.

Sheriff's office spokesperson Capt. Kip Judice said Rebecca Sue Foster is wanted for keeping the child away from the Department of Children and Family Services. The agency was granted legal custody of Joshua on July, 9.

It's believed Foster may be driving a grey 2008 Mazda Tribute with Texas license plate number 524ZFR.

"We reiterate that investigators do not believe the child is in danger," Judice said.

Joshua's grandfather, Monty Wilson, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges of simple kidnapping, Judice said.

Monty Wilson has turned himself in to police.

According to Capt. Kip Judice with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, Wilson surrendered at the sheriff's office.

The child, 3-year-old Joshua Lowe, was not with him, Judice said.

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division is seeking a man for simple kidnapping because they say he is knowingly keeping his 3-year-old grandson away from the Department of Children and Family Services.

The DCFS was granted legal custody of the child on July 9 of this year.

Sheriff's officials are looking for 54-year-old Monty D. Wilson of 217 Loranger Drive in Lafayette.  He is described as being 5 feet, nine inches tall.  He weighs 140 pounds.

They are hoping to located the little boy, 3-year-old Joshua Lowe.

Joshua is 3 feet, four inches tall.  He weighs 39 pounds, he has brown hair and brown eyes.

Wilson was last seen driving a 2003 Silver Kia Sedona with Louisiana license plate # WGS269.

The VIN # on the vehicle is KNDUP131036371152.
