Lafayette Firefighters To Host Sept. 11 Memorial Stair Climb

The Lafayette Professional Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb event will take place Saturday, Sept. 7, at 9:11 a.m. at the Chase Towers on Jefferson Street.

"This is not a race, but an opportunity to honor and remember the 343 FDNY members who selflessly gave their lives on 9-11-2001," according to the event's press release.

Registered teams of one to six participants will climb 110 stories as a tribute.

The kid-friendly event will host a jambalaya cook-off, silent auction, raffle and offer door prizes. Registration and a T-shirt costs $25.
