The Lafayette Police Department will be announced it will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint within Lafayette city limits.

Cpl. Karl Ratcliff said the checkpoint will be conducted Friday evening into Saturday morning between 9 p.m and 3 a.m.

The checkpoint will target impaired drivers who may be under the influence of alcohol or any other dangerous substance.

Designate a driver if you intend to drink, by not doing so, it could result in costly fines and serious jail time.
