Lafayette Plane Crash Survivor Wade Berzas Shares Powerful Story of Endurance and Faith [Video]
To call Acadiana's Wade Berzas a living miracle is an understatement. Of the six passengers on board the plane that tragically crashed in Lafayette December 28, 2019, Berzas was the only survivor. He somehow survived the impact, and then remarkably recovered from life-threatening burns to over 75% of his body. However, to see him only seven months after it all, you'd never know any of this had ever happened.
This past Sunday (7/12/20) Berzas gave testimony to the congregation of Christ Church of Oakdale. Berzas tells those in attendance his harrowing experience of the place crash and his 52 days of treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center's burn center.
The five victims who perished in the plane crash were 51-year-old Ian Biggs, 59-year-old Robert Vaughn Crisp II, 30-year-old Carley McCord, 51-year-old Gretchen Vincent, and 15-year-old Michael Walker Vincent.
I can't even begin to speculate what the mathematical odds are that Wade beat, but whatever they are, he says the only reason he beat them is because of God.
In the video below, Berzas' testimony begins at 29 minutes in.
