If you walked outside and closed your eyes you'd swear it was April and not December. Okay the crackling of dry leaves under your feet and the sounds of Salvation Army Bells might give it away but based upon how it feels you'd be thinking Spring.

With the springlike temperatures we can also expect some springlike showers. The threat of rain isn't that great, but it's enough that Dave Baker has put a chance of showers in your forecast.

Currently the long range forecast for the rest of the work week is a quiet and mild one. Skies will be a mix of clouds and sun and you can't rule out the threat of a shower for each day of the week. A slow moving high pressure system will remain in control of Acadiana's forecast for at least the next 8 days.

The only bad thing about this forecast is that it won't feel like Christmas with so many Christmas events scheduled this week. In fact for the Sonic Christmas Parade on Sunday you might be able to get by in your short sleeves while you wait along the parade route for Santa to arrive in Acadiana.
