Louisiana Starbucks Employee Arrested For Secretly Recording Co-Workers

On Friday, May 15, 2026, the St. John Parish Sheriff's Department responded to a LaPlace, Louisiana Starbucks location after they received a call from the store's manager saying a hidden cell phone was found in the employee bathroom.

According to the store's manager, another employee discovered the cell phone hidden under the bathroom sink while it was actively recording video. It was reportedly aimed at the toilet.

The St. John Parish Sheriff's Department reports that the cell phone allegedly belonged to 30-year-old David Alfred Jr., an employee at the Starbucks location. Alfred is currently being held in the parish jail under a $75,000 bond.

Additional charges are pending and more could be added after a full forensic analysis is completed on Alfred's cell phone.

This isn't the first time Alfred has faced video voyeurism charges.
