It's being billed as a "Lafayette Celebration of Local Arts & Culture". We kind of think it looks like Downtown Alive! meets Art Walk. Regardless, there's going to be good music, some interesting performances, a great selection of arts and crafts to peruse, and the best part, admission is free.

Local Palooza is planned for Lafayette's two large downtown parks on Saturday, May 22nd. The event will feature activities at both Parc International and Parc San Souci. It's also a great reason for those of us who haven't been out of the house in a while to get Downtown and get back to being back together.

Local Palooza is a partnership between Lafayette Consolidated Government and Downtown Lafayette Unlimited. The purpose of the event is to welcome our community back to outdoor and in-person gatherings. Organizers know nothing brings us together in South Louisiana like music and food so Local Palooza will feature both.

Some of the featured musical performers include Geno Delafose and French Rockin' Boogie as well as Kevin Naquin and the Ossun Playboys. Local Palooza will also feature a wide and varied selection of other performance arts as well as more traditional arts and crafts from over 20 different vendors.

The Downtown restaurants and bars will also feature great food and drink specials throughout the evening and for that reason, you're encouraged to leave your ice chests and pets at home. After all admission to the event is free and food and drink will be available for purchase.
