Louisiana, Here’s Where to Locally Find Eclipse Glasses for April 8 Solar Event
The excitement building for the upcoming solar eclipse Monday, April 8, 2024, you have to make sure you have proper Solar Eclipse glasses for this amazing event.
If you're like most folks, you've probably procrastinated getting some until now, and supplies are getting lower and lower every minute.
We did a little digging around on where to hopefully find some proper solar eclipse glasses, and here's what we found out...
The Total Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2024, is a significant astronomical event where the Moon will pass between the Earth and the Sun, completely obscuring the Sun's face and casting a shadow over parts of North America, including Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
All of the United States will witness at least a partial solar eclipse.
However, to experience the full spectacle of totality, observers must be within the narrow path that sweeps across central Mexico, parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, as well as southern Canada according to nso.edu.
Looking directly at the Sun without proper protection, even during a solar eclipse, can cause serious eye damage or blindness.
Solar filters in eclipse glasses block these harmful radiations, protecting your eyes. Regular sunglasses, even very dark ones, do not block enough of the Sun's radiation to be safe for looking at the Sun.
Solar eclipse glasses are made with special-purpose solar filters that block out 99.999% of sunlight, as well as harmful UV and IR rays.
This makes it safe for you to look at the uneclipsed or partially eclipsed Sun.
Now, where to find proper solar eclipse glasses with the eclipse only days away...
