(KMDL-FM)  Lotologists, those who study, track, and predict lottery outcomes, will tell you that there are no emotions in numbers. But the way things have started in 2026 for the Louisiana Lottery, it sure feels like there is an emotional wave of positive momentum for the state's lottery players because the Louisiana Lottery has just confirmed a second jackpot win for 2026.

Wednesday night is a big lottery night in Louisiana. There are drawings in Powerball, the multi-state lottery game, Lotto, a Louisiana original, and my favorite game, Easy 5. I like Easy 5 because the game seems to get a jackpot winner about every four times they play. That's not reality, but that's how it seems.

And, Louisiana players have already had major success playing Powerball in the new year.

One of the tickets that matched all the white balls but missed the Powerball was sold in Tennessee. That ticket opted for Power Play, so their winnings are actually $2 million. Meanwhile, in Texas, there were two Match 5 Million winners sold. One of those million-dollar winners was sold in Lubbock. The other was sold in Fort Worth.

Lotto delivered the big win in Louisiana on Wednesday. The Lotto game, after building a huge jackpot prize to end 2025, has suddenly come alive with two jackpot winners in just a couple of drawings. Last night's Lotto jackpot prize was for $550,000, and there was a jackpot-winning ticket sold.

Where was the $550,000 Lotto Winner in Louisiana Sold?

Preliminary information from the Louisiana Lottery suggests the big money Lotto winner was sold in Winnsboro, Louisiana. We do not have the point of purchase details as of yet, but at least we know a town.
