Louisiana Ticket Wins Big With $150,000 Powerball Prize
(KMDL-FM) It's time to pull out your Powerball tickets and check your numbers. The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed a ticket sold in the state for Wednesday's Powerball drawing matched the numbers needed to claim a $150,000 prize.
The big Louisiana winner did not claim the jackpot prize. Last night, Powerball players were hoping to score a perfect match and claim a jackpot of $194.2 million. That was the annuitized jackpot amount. The cash amount a jackpot winner would have received in Wednesday's drawing was estimated to be $86.8 million.
Louisiana Ticket Wins the Largest Prize Awarded in Wednesday's Powerball

The Louisiana-sold ticket can make the claim that it was the largest single Powerball prize paid out in last night's drawing. There was another ticket sold across the Powerball footprint that had the same number match scenario and the Power Play opt-in, but those were the only two $150,000 wins in Wednesday's game.

Now that doesn't mean there aren't other Powerball winners in Louisiana. The Louisiana Lottery's Powerball "Winners in Louisiana" page tells us that almost 3,000 Louisiana Powerball players earned a prize of $4 and just over 2,000 Louisiana Powerball players earned a prize of $12. See the difference opting in for Power Play can make?

If you're not familiar with Power Play in Powerball, it's a function of the game that allows you to purchase a multiplier for your winnings. In last night's game, the Power Play multiplier was "x3," hence the $4 into $12 scenario we described above.
That Power Play option is also the reason Louisiana's big winner isn't $50,000; it's $150,000. I have always found it to be a sound lottery gaming practice to add multipliers where you can; that's just me, you do you.

What Were The Winning Powerball Lottery Numbers for June 3, 2026?
The winning numbers from Wednesday's Powerball drawing were:
14 16 38 55 64 Powerball 12 Power Play x3
We have not been given point-of-purchase details on the $150,000 winner. That should come later this morning from the Louisiana Lottery offices in Baton Rouge.

There was no jackpot win in Lotto or Easy 5 last night. Those games will continue to grow their jackpots. Lotto is $1.925 million, and Easy 5 is $80,000. The next drawing in those games will come on Saturday, as will the next Powerball drawing.
