Louisiana Powerball Winners Revealed – Jackpot Now $700 Million
Louisiana Powerball players in Marrero, Louisiana, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Covington Louisiana, and Harahan Louisiana have all experienced a Powerball Lottery win of $50,000 or more in the past 10 days. Heck, a Powerball player in Kinder Louisiana claimed a $150,000 win on January 7th as well. So, I think we can safely say that Lady Luck is spreading an abundance of Powerball luck to lottery players across the state.
In last night's Powerball drawing Louisiana's lottery luck continued with not one but two tickets sold in the state matching numbers needed to win prizes of $100,000 and $50,000 respectively. What those tickets didn't win was the game's $646 million dollar top prize. So, that jackpot will continue to grow.
If you didn't see the Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Powerball Drawing, here's how it unfolded.
The Powerball website confirms the numbers drawn were:
31 43 58 59 66 Powerball 09 Power Play x2
The lottery game's website also confirmed that no tickets sold across the country matched the numbers needed to win the game's jackpot. But there were some Match 5 winners. Tickets sold in Florida and North Carolina Matched 5 for a $1 million dollar win and another ticket sold in New York Matched 5 and they opted in on the Power Play so their prize is $2 million.
This means that win the ping pong balls drop on Saturday night at 10 pm. the Powerball top prize will be an estimated $700 million dollars if you choose the annuitized payout. If you opt for the lump sum payout the game's top prize will be $375.7 million dollars.
The Louisiana Lottery has confirmed through its website that 22 tickets sold in the state for the Wednesday drawing earned a prize of $100 or more. In fact, 18 Louisiana-sold tickets can lay claim to a prize of $100 while two other tickets opted-in for the Power Play, and their prizes were doubled to $200.
The Louisiana Lottery also confirmed through its website that two tickets sold in Louisiana earned big-money prizes in last night's game. In both cases, the ticket purchasers matched four of the white ball numbers and the Powerball. One ticket had the Power Play option, the other did not. The prizes are $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
As of this report, the Louisiana Lottery had not revealed the point of purchase location for these two big-money winners. The Lottery did reveal that a $50,000 Powerball winner was sold in Marrero for Monday's drawing. Also, a $40,000 Mega Millions ticket was sold in the state for Tuesday's drawing in that game. That ticket was purchased at West Metairie Shell in Metairie Louisiana.
Incidentally, the Lottery Website also shows there is a $50,000 Powerball winning ticket that was sold in Greenwood Louisiana for the September 5th drawing that has still not been claimed. That ticket will expire in 30 days. Meanwhile, a ticket sold in Grand Coteau for the November 5th game will expire in 90 days. That ticket also earned a prize of $50,000.
There were no confirmed winners in the Easy 5 or Lotto drawings from last night so those jackpots will continue to grow. Mega Millions after having gotten a fourth jackpot winner in the last seven drawings will start over with a $20 million jackpot on Friday night. And, as we've mentioned Powerball will be an estimated $700 million on Saturday.
