All a shore that's coming ashore that's the invitation the Louisiana Senate has extended to Louisiana's riverboat casinos. Last night the Senate approved a measure that would allow the states floating casinos to conduct gaming business on land.

Proponents of the legislation say this measure is not about gambling expansion. They simply suggest that casino operators can improve their business without the complications associated with operating over a body of water.

Mississippi passed similar legislation after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. This allowed for casino operators along the Mississippi Gulf Coast to rebuild and get back in business faster. If we're being honest very few if any "riverboat casinos" ever left the docks. So, why not take the whole imaginary boat out of the equation for good?

The Louisiana House will begin their debate on the measure in the coming days.
