GEISMAR, La. (KMDL-FM) - A Louisiana couple has been arrested and are facing numerous charges surrounding the alleged starving to death of their 5-year-old son in what Ascension Parish officials are calling one of the most disturbing cases they've ever encountered.

5-Year-Old Louisiana Boy Starved To Death

According to WAFB, a Geismer, Louisiana couple, Marlon Perrilloux, 33, and Raynisa Young, 27, were arrested and charged with negligent homicide, cruelty to juveniles, various other drug charges, and weapons charges.

The child, identified as Marley Perrilloux, weighed only 19 pounds and was 35 inches tall when he died. He was bedridden and apparently never left the house, according to investigators.

On January 1, 2026, Ascension Parish authorities say the parents called 911 for help after putting the child in their vehicle, eventually meeting deputies at a gas station off of Highway 73 where CPR was immediately administered on the child.

Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Col. Donald Capelo tells WAFB the child was then quickly transported to the nearest hospital where staff worked to revive and stabilize him for roughly 45 minutes before the child passed away.

Capelo says this is probably the worst case of child neglect he's seen in his 34-year career in law enforcement.

There were three other children living inside the home, reportedly in terrible living conditions. The children, who's ages have not been released, were immediately removed from the home.

Perrilloux and Young are currently being held in the Ascension Parish jail with no bond, and charges could be upgraded.
