Lottery players in Louisiana certainly scooped up their share of cash prizes in last night's (January 3rd) drawing in the multi-state lottery game Mega Millions. There was one ticket sold in Louisiana that has a value of $10,000 but officials with the Mega Millions game say no single ticket sold in Louisiana or anywhere else the game is played matched the numbers needed to claim the jackpot of $ 785 million dollars.

Here's how the numbers shook out on January 3, 2023, drawing from last night.

If you couldn't see the video the numbers produced from the hopper were:

25   29   33   41   44   Mega Ball 18  Megaplier x4.

Last night's drawing did not produce a jackpot winner but it did create six new millionaires across the country. Mega Millions game officials say via their website that tickets sold in Maryland, Texas, and Virginia "Matched 5" to claim a one million dollar prize. Three other tickets sold in Arizona, Mississippi, and South Dakota "Matched 5" too but those players purchased the Megaplier option so their prize will be $4 million dollars.

While no Louisiana tickets matched the numbers needed to claim the game's jackpot or even a million-dollar prize there was a ticket sold in Louisiana, according to the Louisiana Lottery, that matched four of the white ball numbers and the Mega Ball. That ticket is worth $10,000 this morning. As of 0200 AM, Lottery officials had not made the point of purchase location for that $10,000 winner public.

Lottery officials in Louisiana are telling us that five other tickets sold in the state earned a prize of $2,000 in last night's game. Those tickets matched four of the white balls in last night's drawing and the ticket purchaser opted in on the megaplier. There were another 11 tickets sold in the state that matched four but did not include the megaplier. Those tickets have a prize value of $500.

Twenty-one other tickets sold for last night's drawing earned a prize of $200 while another 12 tickets sold in Louisiana earned a prize valued at $800. Those tickets, the $200 and $800 winners, all matched three of the white balls. The $800 winners opted in on the megaplier.

All in all, there were 958 tickets sold in Louisiana for last night's Mega Millions game that earned at least $10. So do check your numbers. You can do that quite handily at the Louisiana Lottery site.
