Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays, unless of course, that home is a new home on a beach that you just bought with the winnings from your most recent lottery ticket purchase. I know it's a pipe dream but those pipe dreams sometimes come true and during this week of Thanksgiving lottery players have over "400 Million' reasons to be thankful for the chance to play.

This past Saturday at ticket sold for the November 21st Powerball drawing matched four of the five white-ball numbers, the Powerball and the player had opted in on the Power Play option. According to the Louisiana Lottery website, that ticket is worth $100,000.

The ticket was purchased in Gonzales at Lamendola Supermarket. So, if you bought a ticket for the Powerball last Saturday in Gonzales, check your numbers.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot itself has risen to over $202 million dollars. That's the estimated amount that players will be hoping to win on Wednesday night. The Mega Millions game isn't far behind. That game will have an estimated payout of over $200 million dollars if someone matches all the numbers in Tuesday's drawing.

Not to be ignored is the Louisiana Lottery's Lotto Game. That jackpot has now risen to an estimated $1 million dollars. Quick fact about Lotto, the last big Lotto winner was from Lafayette. They picked up a cool $800,000.

So, as you can see, there are still plenty of good reasons to reach into your spare change and play a ticket or two, but only if you can afford to lose that investment. A lot of people play the lottery every week and very few win. While we want you to have fun, we are big fans of being responsible too.
