A Louisiana woman was recently invited to "come on down" from the audience to contestant row on The Price Is Right and later won "a new car!"

Lake Charles resident Carla Jubert recently went on a trip to California to celebrate her 63rd birthday after her son surprised her with tickets to the long-running TV game show.

Of course, like many of us, Jubert always wanted to be in the audience for a taping but never thought she would be in that number. After watching the show for over 40 years, that dream came true.

Lake Charles TV station KPLC caught up with Jubert to get her accounts of the experience.

"You know we took our seats and everybody just had a lot of energy. It was just a lot going on. We just had fun, you know. So we took our seats and we were waiting for the show. I mean I was talking to a lady and I was talking to my family and I was excited on and on when I knew anything I heard my name. Yes, I heard "Carla Jubert." I looked and I took off running," shared Jubert.

And before she knew it, she was on contestants' row bidding on prizes.

“It was an exercise machine like a glider and I bid on it. We did two bids I believe and it seemed like everybody was bidding a little bit high so when it got down to me I said well I’m going to bid one dollar. One dollar and the reason why I did that cause I felt like I said well they all might be over I might get on and I did. I bid one dollar and got up there,” continued Jubert.

Jubert said the crowd helped her play the game as they held up different numbers to guess the prices of the items.

“When I got up on the stage a when he opened up that curtain and showed me it was a car I almost lost it because now I feel like I am dreaming somebody please wake me up that’s how excited I was when that curtain pulled back and that car was there ah it was so amazing,” said Jubert.

Jubert said her family was in the audience and she still says it was unreal being on the show, much less getting to win a new ride.

“My family was in the audience and the people that were in the audience. I couldn’t have done it without them because when you get up there your mind just goes blank and you don’t know what you want to do,” said Jubert. “You don’t know what you want to do so I kept looking at them. I kept looking and all you could see in the audience was fingers up, fingers, fingers, fingers, fingers but they took me through and I won that car.”

Jubert has not decided yet if she will take the car or opt to receive the amount of money the car is worth.

Whichever she chooses, she sure has an experience she will be able to tell her kids and grandkids about for the rest of her life.
