Louisiana High School Wrestler Body Slams Coach After Winning State
Southside High wrestler Landon Reaux has a lot to celebrate after winning his weight class at the LHSAA State Wrestling Championships in Bossier this past weekend (2/11/23).
Reaux fought his way all through the 2022-2023 High School Wrestling season to earn a spot and compete for a Louisiana State Title.
He would not be denied, and Reaux won the Division 1 Louisiana State Wrestling Title in the 120lb weight class.
The crowd cheered as Reaux won the match, but what happened next sent the crowd, and the internet, into a frenzy.
As soon as Reaux wins his State Championship, he immediately turns to look for his wrestling coach, Mike Stelly.
The two make eye contact, embrace in a moment of jubilant celebration, and then...
Reaux body slams coach Stelly to mat.
Technically the move is called a lat drop, and Reaux seems to execute it perfectly.
Obviously the two had talked about it before hand and it has made for a pretty incredible moment in High School sports.
Southside High's Wiley Boudreaux also took home the State Title for the 138lb weight class.
Lafayette High, Teurlings, Rayne, Comeaux, and more all showed up in a big way at State as well, once again making Acadiana proud.
